Two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel on patrol were martyred by unidentified assailants on the RCD Highway in Balochistan's Chaghi district on Saturday night, Levies sources told DawnNews.

The two soldiers were patrolling the highway on a motorcycle in the Killi Dawoodabad area when miscreants opened fire on them and fled, the Levies sources said.

A large number of FC and Levies personnel reached the site of the gun attack as an investigation into the incident went underway. A search operation was launched in the area following the attack, the Levies sources said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
