HYDERABAD: Police arrested an employee of the Liaquat University Hospital’s (LUH) city branch on Thursday for blackmailing a woman by uploading her video on social media.

Market police lodged a case under Sections 354-A, 292/2, 506, 34 of the PPC and 29 of Telegraph Act on behalf of the state against the suspect identified as Nabeel Awan after a woman, a resident of Latifabad, submitted a complaint to the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC). Police investigated the complaint and finally arrested Awan near outpatient department of LUH.

The suspect also disclosed the name of his accomplice Shahzeb, who was at large, and told police that he was friends with the complainant woman. He confessed to having uploaded her video on a social media website, according to police.
