KOHAT: Two people were killed and one injured in exchange of fire between two groups in Naway Kaly area on Hangu Road on Monday.

The cantonment police said two groups having an old enmity came face to face in upper Naway Kalay area and opened indiscriminate fire at each other. As a result, Shahid and Meraj died on the spot from each side.

The bodies and the injured were taken to the KDA teaching hospital where autopsy was underway. The unidentified injured had been admitted to hospital.

The area SHO told Dawn that so far no FIR had been lodged and nobody had been nominated by either side.

ARRESTS: The Jungle Khel police arrested 84 criminals, including facilitators of proclaimed offenders, during a search and strike operation and general hold up in the city on Monday.

Besides, 40 suspected people and 150 motorcyclists without number plates were also taken into custody. Eight proclaimed offenders were also among those held.
