LAHORE, Aug 9: The railway authorities have decided to construct two warehouses —- at Kot Lakhpat, Lahore, and Chichawatni, Sahiwal — to facilitate upcountry importers.

Work on the projects will start soon as railway chairman Khurshid Ahmad Khan has recently visited the sites.

Meanwhile, railway authorities have decided to introduce a new train, Shorkot Special, on Faisalabad-Shorkot section, it is learnt.

The train, which is likely to start on Aug 21, will stop on Toba Tek Singh and Gojra en route Shorkot and back.

The authorities are planning to use the rack of Ghauri Express (Faisalabad non-stop) which stands idle at the Faisalabad station for about four hours.

Railway officials say the non-stop reaches Faisalabad at 11am and starts its journey back to Lahore at 3:30pm. It has been decided to dispatch the rack to Shorkot at 11:30am. Reaching Shorkot at 1pm, the train will return to Faisalabad at 3pm.
