LAHORE: A man was killed and two others, including a child, were injured in various parts of the city in the first two Eid days because of kite flying incidents.

According to initial reports, Iftikhar, 30, got critical burns when he touched high voltage electricity wires while catching a kite on Amir Road in Shadbagh. He was shifted to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

Another similar incident that also took place in the same area, 10-year-old Falak Sher climbed up a pole to catch a kite. Suddenly, his hand touched live wires and he got serious burns. He was rushed to a local hospital where his condition was stated to be serious.

In yet another incident, a kite string slit opened the throat of 25-year-old Suleman when he was riding a motorcycle in the Lower Mall area. He was taken to a hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.

Taking action on kite flying related incidents, Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered suspension of Misri Shah DSP Zulfiqar Butt and Shadbagh SHO Ibrar.
