KARACHI: People could get water tankers at official rates by just making a phone call to relevant hydrants during Eid holidays, says a statement issued by the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board.

Phone numbers of hydrants are: Sakhi Hassan hydrant (0332 805 3213); Safoora hydrant (0311 820 3942, and 0331 243 5582); Future Colony hydrant (0300 253 2690, and 0300 927 2163).

Official rates for a 1,000 gallon tanker, up to 10 kilometres from the hydrant, are Rs1,000; and for 2,000 gallon tanker Rs1,300; for 3,000 gallon tanker rates are Rs 1,700, whereas Rs70 per kilometres would be charged for each additional kilometre.

Complains of non-supply of tankers could be made to deputy director of hydrants on telephone number 0333 750 7873, adds the statement.
