ILLEGAL construction of buildings has affected people’s lives as many builders are involved in carrying out construction without even getting the mandatory approval from the Sindh Building Control Authority. This is causing a loss of millions of rupees to the Sindh government and the SBCA. Marriage halls, commercial shops, banks and food shops are being openly built without obtaining official approval.

The SBCA is responsible for ensuring that buildings are built according to approved plans, but most builders have found an illegal way of carrying on their business.

Since many such buildings are still under construction, it is the right time to demolish them. The officials concerned must look into the matter and take legal action against those involved in this activity.
