UMERKOT: Civil society representatives of Dhoronaro town took out a rally against the alleged forcible conversion of Ms Ravita, a Hindu girl, and demanded justice for her here on Wednesday.

Led by Allah Bachayo Mallah, the protesters marched from the railway station to Girhori bus stand of Dhoronaro, carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans.

Mr Mallah said that if anyone embraced Islam on his/her own, none should have objection to it.

Bhagwandas Meghwar stressed upon the lawmakers and courts to play their role to minimise such happenings. According to him, such incidents have affected communal relations and pluralism of the area.

Dheraj Kumar said that both sides, the Hindus and Muslims, should tackle the matter amicably, keeping in view its sensitivity.

MITHI: A large number of people belonging to various religious parties and followers of the Khalili Jamaat took out a rally and staged a demonstration to register their protest against a “malicious campaign” being launched against their spiritual leader Pir Ayub Jan Sarhandi.

Leading the rally, Jaindo Daras Union Council chairman Ghulam Murtaza Dars, Manthar Janjhi, Mohammad Haroon Khaskheli and others, told local journalists that Ravita was mature and she embraced Islam of her own free will and then married the person of her choice.
