MIRPURKHAS: Senator Hari Ram Kishori Lal and MPA Haji Noor Ahmed Bhurgari of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) intervened quickly on Tuesday to help protesting relatives of a woman lodge an FIR of her kidnapping against the son of a local party leader.

A large number of people belonging to the Meghwar community took to the streets of Degan Bhurgari town of Kot Ghulam Mohammed taluka on Tuesday soon after the affected family raised a hue and cry over the woman’s alleged kidnapping and the refusal by the area police to book four suspects, the prime one being the son of a local PPP activist.

Senator Hari Ram and MPA Bhurgari rushed to the police station where the protesters were holding a noisy demonstration.

They asked the police officer concerned to register an FIR as per the complaint of the affected family.

The woman’s father, in his complaint, stated that the nominated suspect, along with his three associates, forcibly took away his daughter at gun point. He demanded immediate action by police for the victim’s early and safe recovery as well as arrest of all four suspects.

No further police action was, however, reported till the last report came in late in the evening.
