ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr Shireen Mazari on Wednesday lodged a protest with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra over the attitude of his motorcade’s protocol staff.

Dr Mazari expressed anger over a small collision between her car and one of the vehicles in the motorcade.

The PTI leader was going to the National Assembly when the governor’s motorcade overtook her. As the motorcade passed by her car, the governor’s staff signalled her to move aside to make room for the vehicles. Near the main gate of the Parliament House, one vehicle in the motorcade slightly hit Dr Mazari’s car.

After reaching the parliament house, Dr Mazari asked who was in the motorcade and straightaway went to Mr Jhagra.

She told Mr Jhagra he could not do whatever he wanted just because he was governor.

She said that the vehicles in the motorcade did not have number plates, implying citizens would treat them like ordinary vehicles and would not give way. She suggested that Mr Jhagra advise his staff to “behave like human beings”.

Mr Jhagra, who belongs to the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, did not respond to her broadside and kept smiling.

Later, Dr Mazari took to social media to criticise the attitude of PML-N workers and leaders.

“KP gov’s hoodlum escort car with no number plate bangs into my car outside parliament! PMLN ppl are sheer hoodlums from gov to Gullu Butts!” she tweeted.
