KARACHI: Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah will announce the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2017-18 in the Sindh Assembly on June 5.

According to sources, proposals from different departments for the coming budget are in the process of finalisation.

Presiding over a meeting held to discuss matters pertaining to the coming budget and resource mobilisation proposal at CM House on Saturday, the chief minister said his government was making all-out efforts to improve the efficiency of revenue collecting institutions instead of imposing new taxes to strengthen financial health of the province.
