BAHAWALNAGAR: Seven people of a family, of Basti Dharmewali Kat, were hospitalised on Friday after consuming toxic milk here on Friday.

District Officer (emergency) Dr Sohail said Shah Muhammad (45) and his children - Adil (10), Abid (8), Majid (6), Sajid (4), Abida Bibi (18) and Sajida Bibi (16) - were being treated at the Bahawalnagar District Headquarters Hospital.

HONOUR KILLING: A mentally-challenged girl was shot dead allegedly by his brother in the name of honour in Faqeerwali on Friday, police said.

Abrar Hussain, of Chak 122/6R, allegedly shot at and killed Saira and fled.

The family was burying the body when the police arrived there and shifted the body to the Haroonabad Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for postmortem.

Police said the girl was killed for honour.

DIES: A man died and four others were injured when the car they were traveling in crashed into a roadside shop on Friday in Haroonabad.

According to Rescue 1122, the driver lost control over steering which led to the crash. Abdul Ghani was killed while Sakina Bibi, Jamshed, Shamoon and driver Shabbir were injured and were rushed to the Haronabad THQ Hospital.
