ETHICS is a discourse to judge our value-based actions. It encompasses all aspects from cradle to grave and beyond, questions values and thoughts attached to our actions, and discerns the best possible course of action in human interactions.

I feel that a structured programme in ethics in schools and universities will help our coming generations to understand all dimensions of life while deciding a course of action. It may help to elucidate the dogmatic nature of some, and may change the way one lives, and transform society.

This is the only way to have a fundamental change in our thought processes, which may help us curb the prevailing self-righteousness. Indeed, this is a daunting task for a society like ours, but a much-needed one if we are to develop into a civilised society.
