LAHORE,  Aug 3: The chestnut mare Dancing Margina, after winning the fourth race, lost it in the Stewards’ Room on an objection when a card of six events was decided during the Lahore Gymkhana races at the Racecourse on Sunday.

Dancing Margina had beaten Hot Press by one-and-a-half lengths. After the race Jockey Mubarik Ali, the rider of second placed Hot Press lodged an objection against the winner for bumping and crossing near the winning post.

The Lahore Race Club (LRC) Stewards viewed the video-film of the race and upheld the objection and awarded the race to Hot Press as Dancing Margina was disqualified from the race.

In the supporting and fifth race the 40 to 100 favourite bay colt Weldon Shogun added an other victory to his credit and made it two in-a-row.

The winner faced a strong challenge from Silk Route, who could not quite get on terms with the winner, and slipped away to second spot, three-and-a-half lengths behind.

Riding boy A. Aziz won the day’s riding honours by piloting home three winners. He started the afternoon’s proceedings on a triumphant note when he steered home Sound Master in the third race.

He completed his triple tally, cruising Weldon Shogun  and Dhandhana to victory in the fifth and sixth events respectively.
