LAKKI MARWAT: The local authorities have started providing solar panels and other equipment to police stations and police posts in the district.

An official said that Syed Khalid Hamdani, the district police chief, launched the initiative to provide better working environment to policemen.

He said that under the project, solar penal, fans and other equipments run by solar energy were distributed among the police officials.

The official said that water coolers, uninterrupted power supply system and batteries were also provided to police stations, posts and checkpoints.

He said that Lakki police station and Lakki police post also got power generators.

The official said that provision of those facilities would enable the policemen to perform their duty in a better way.
