LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif promises tax-free budget for the next fiscal year.

Chairing a meeting here on Sunday which discussed various budgetary proposals for the financial year 2017-18 and priorities for the Annual Development Programme, he directed the officials concerned to make budget suitable for farmers, industrialists and others by introducing no new tax.

He sought making provision of potable water project in all 37 tehsils of south Punjab a part of the next ADP which, he said, would be a record.

Ministers Malik Nadeem Kamran, Ayesha Ghaus-Pasha, MNA Hamza Shahbaz, chief secretary, CM’s adviser Dr Umer Saif, additional chief secretary, chairman of Planning & Development, secretaries of concerned departments and senior officials attended the meeting.

The provincial budget is expected to be presented in the first week of June.
