QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has said that the Gwadar Smart City plan and East Expressway are part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and, with its completion, economic and trade activities would start in the region.

He stated this at the signing of MoUs regarding these projects in Beijing on Monday. Gwadar Development Authority Director General Shaharyar Taj and senior officials of the Chinese companies signed the MoUs.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Dr Ahsan Iqbal, vice chairman Balochistan Investment Board and senior officials of both countries were present on the occasion.

According to the statement issued by the Balochistan government here late on Monday evening, Balochistan is the only province which has signed MoUs on various important projects of the CPEC.
