SHEIKHUPURA, Aug 2: Nine robbers in the guise of NAB officials robbed the house of a relative of the tehsil Nazim in Dera Behlolian near Mananwala early on Saturday morning.

According to information available here, the robbers reached the village and asked two security guards performing duty there who gave them the weapons. The guards told them that one Rana Ayub, a prominent figure of the village, had provided them the arms. The robbers asked them to take them to Rana Ayub’s house.

As Ayub opened the door, they introduced themselves as the NAB officials. They started questioning him about his property. In the meanwhile, two of them whipped their weapons and locked the family in a room. They collected 50 tolas of gold jewellery and other valuables worth thousands of rupees and escaped with the booty.

Police are investigating.
