KARACHI: Olympian Iftikhar Syed Sport Academy (OISSA) defeated PIH Hockey Club by tennis score (6-0) to register first win in the Olympian Munawwar-uz-Zaman Veterans Hockey League in floodlights at their home ground on Friday evening.

Spearhead Zafar and inside left Shahabuddin slammed two goals apiece while outside left Waheed and centre-half Iqbal added one each to their tally.

The OISSA were held to a goalless draw by AO Hockey Club on the opening day in the three-team pool D match.

This was P.I.H Hockey Club’s second successive defeat as they received a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of AO Club.

On completion of their group matches, both OISSA and AO Club have cruised into the quarter-finals.

In an earlier pool A match, Central Fitness Club chalked up 2-0 victory over Baldia Town Club.

Inside right Imtiaz opened the account scoring a field goal in the ninth minute while spearhead Mohammad Asif sealed the fate three minute later.
