Cylinder blast in school canteen

KASUR: The building of Government Girls High School, Mandi Usmanwala, caught fire when a cylinder in its canteen burst on Tuesday.

Initially the canteen caught fire which spread to another portion of the building. Books, furniture and food were reduced to ashesFirefighters put the fire out after efforts of about half an hour. No loss of life or injury was reported.

In another incident, a buffalo was burnt alive while two others suffered injuries when their cattle pen caught fire at Pial Kalan village.

FIRE: Two children suffered injuries when the wheat crop on eight acres and a stock of harvested crop were put on fire on Tuesday at village Tanikay in the jurisdiction of Sarai Mughal Police.

Police said farmer Yusaf burnt the husk of wheat in his fields, which caught the standing crop and the stock.
