PESHAWAR: The Businessman Forum Chief Senator Ilyas Ahmed Bilour has rejected the claim of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak about signing agreements with Chinese investors and said that the provincial government was misleading the people on hollow slogans.

Speaking at a workers meeting here on Sunday, Mr Bilour, who is a central leader of ANP, said that the provincial government had failed to fulfill its commitments with the people and now the chief minister was trying to save his face by proclaiming that he had signed memorandums of understanding worth billions of rupees in Beijing.

Mr Bilor said that the KP Economic Cooperation Road Show was nothing practical but just a photo session to dodge the people of the province. He said the entire show had flopped, adding that he would quit politics if five per cent of the Chinese investment came to the province under these MoUs.

Besides, he said that the provincial government had ignored the entire business community in the China tour and in the CM’s entourage there were people who had nothing to do with business and investment.

“The provincial government spent a lot of public money on the tour and brought nothing to the province,” the ANP leader claimed and said that in the next general elections Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf would be unable to find candidates in the province. The businessman also criticised the PTI stand on Panama Papers case and said that all the political parties were bound to respect the decision of the Supreme Court. He said Imran Khan should take practical steps to stop corruption in his provincial government and to initiate development schemes as committed in the election campaign.
