TOBA TEK SINGH: The Gojra City police received an application on Tuesday from an expatriate woman who alleged that three people kidnapped and gang-raped her.

The application states she was strolling in Jinnah Park when three people (one nominated) kidnapped her to a village where they gang raped her.

Muharrar Rehmat Ali said as the place of the rape in the Gojra Saddar police jurisdiction, she was referred to the police station concerned.

Gojra Saddar muharrar Shahid Ali said they had not received any such application.

Death sentence: Pirmahal Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Azfar Khan handed down on Tuesday death sentence and a Rs500,000 fine to Muhammad Iqbal in a murder case.

He will pay fine as compensation to the heirs of Muhammad Yar.

The judge acquitted Iqbal’s wife Khanan Bibi and son Afzal of the charge giving them the benefit of the doubt.

The three were arrested in 2015 for murdering their relative Muhammad Yar over a property dispute.

Also, Gojra Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Bilal Mughal sentenced on Tuesday four and half years imprisonment to Khurram Shahzad, of Aziz Colony, in a narcotics case.

FUNERAL: An army jawan who laid his life in Balochistan was laid to rest in his native village, Khan Da Chak, near Kamalia, on Tuesday.

Muhammad Nasir Sial was on census duty in Pasni when he was martyred by militants. An army contingent presented a salute after the funeral while a wreath was also laid on his grave on behalf of the army chief.
