The military’s media wing added that the step was aimed at ensuring the safety and security of civil and military personnel following incidents of “unprovoked targeting and persistent ceasefire violations by the Indian Army”.

The second phase of the census commenced on Tuesday in 87 Districts across the country and will be completed on May 25 2017, added the ISPR.

A census team comprising civil and army personnel visited Army House, Rawalpindi for "registration of necessary data", the ISPR said.
