QUARRELS and accidents while attempting to jump long queues at different toll plazas on the Lahore-Faisalabad dual carriageway have become the norm rather than an exception.

The Sheikhupura-Kot Abdul Malik toll plaza has become notorious in this respect. Accidents and fender-benders are a daily occurrence because of queue-jumping. The commotion that takes place thereafter results in traffic jams and a waste of time.

The authorities should frame and implement commuter and discipline-friendly rules and regulations in this regard. The public at large should also be educated in this regard. The traffic police should be deployed at these points to regulate traffic.
