GHALANAI: A khasadar was killed while another was seriously injured when an improvised explosive device planted along a road hit their motorcycle in Alingar area of Mohmand Agency on Sunday.

An official said that the deceased, Iqbal Khan, along with another khasadar was patrolling the area when their motorbike was hit by an IED. He died on the spot. while his colleague received injuries.

The injured man was referred to a hospital in Peshawar for treatment.

Following the incident, security forces conducted a search operation in the area, but no arrest was made.

Funeral prayer of the deceased was offered in Ghalanai, the agency headquarters. Later, his body was shifted to Khwezai tehsil.

Meanwhile, two rockets were fired in the bordering Koda Khel area of Biazai tehsil, the other night. The rockets landed in the fields. No loss of life or property was reported in the incident.
