Gen Bajwa pins ranks on AK Regiment's new Colonel Commandant

The installation ceremony of Colonel Commandant Azad Kashmir (AK) Regiment was held at AK Regimental Centre in Mansar Camp on Wednesday with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa as the chief guest.

Gen Bajwa and the outgoing regiment commandant Lt Gen (retd) Ashfaq Nadeem pinned the badges of the rank on Lt Gen Hidayat ur Rehman to install him as the Colonel Commandant of the AK Regiment, read a statement issued by military’s media wing.

While speaking at the occasion, the army chief acknowledged and hailed contributions of AK Regiment towards defence of the motherland, the Inter-Services Public Relations said.

Gen Bajwa also thanked the outgoing Colonel Commandant of the AK Regiment “for his meritorious services as Colonel of the Regiment”, the ISPR said.

Several senior serving and retired officers alongside soldiers of the AK Regiment were present on the occasion.

Lt Gen Riaz reviews census process in Quetta

Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Aamir Riaz visited different areas of Quetta to oversee conduct of ongoing census, the ISPR reported.

According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, Lt Gen Riaz was given a detailed briefing on progress of census in Quetta.

Talking to citizens during his visit, the Commander Southern Command highlighted the importance of census.

Lt Gen Riaz reiterated the resolve of ensuring unbiased conduct of census for which all out efforts were being put in by civil and military officials.
