Bajwa pays tribute to fallen soldier’s kin

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday visited the family of Maj Mudassar, who sacrificed his life for the motherland during a clash with militants in Orakzai Agency on March 22.

Maj Mudassar’s parents and widow expressed pride for being the family of a Shaheed-i-watan.

The COAS hailed their patriotic emotions and said that no-one could harm Pakistan which has brave parents and families like them.

In Bahawalpur, the army chief inaugurated a medical college at the Combined Military Hospital.

The Institute of Medical Sciences was set up by the Defence Housing Authority and according to a DHA official, around 150 students would be admitted for MBBS and dentistry courses.

Earlier, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the army chief visited the Bahawalpur garrison where he was briefed on the operational preparedness of the forces.

Gen Bajwa expressed satisfaction over the level of their preparedness and security measures made in the area. He was quoted as saying that the security measures would help promote peace, integrity and solidarity in the area and be a source of restoration of long-term peace.
