SUKKUR, July 27: Four FC personnel were injured in a landmine blast near a Sui gas pipeline on the border of Balochistan and Punjab on Sunday.

The FC personnel, who were in a vehicle, were patrolling the area near the Doli check post when they were injured in the landmine blast, and their vehicle completely destroyed.

Their names have been ascertained as Mujahid Hussain, Abbas Ali, Hafiz Tayyab and Ubaid Gul.

All were taken to a nearby hospital.

HESCO SLAMMED: The chairman, All Pakistan Organization of Small Traders and Cottage Industries, Haji Mohammad Haroon Memon, while criticizing the role of Hesco in Sindh, has said that though electricity was a necessity of life, but Hesco officials had converted it into a headache for the consumers.

In a press release issued here on Sunday, he said Hesco is busy in serving detection bills and inflated bills, while the curse of loadshedding is another issue.

He said that in this connection we had appealed to the chief executive, Hesco, Brigadier (retd) Tariq Arshad, due to which some relief was provided to the consumers, but after the lapsing of some time, they have again resorted to the same practice.

Haji Haroon Memon demanded that the chairman, Wapda, Lt Gen (retd) Zulfiqar Ali Khan, and the minister of water and power look into the matter regarding detection bills and other irregularities, which are common in Hesco, otherwise the traders of Sindh will be compelled to go on strike against the atrocities of the department.

BODY RECOVERED: The body of a boy, Mohammad Zubair, who had drowned near Rohri about three days back, was recovered from the River Indus, near the Sukkur Barrage, by divers on Sunday.

ACCIDENT: One person was killed and another was injured in an accident on the National highway near Mando Dero on Sunday.

Papu Rajput and his cousin, Anwar Rajput, who were sitting on the roof of an overloaded bus, coming from Sadiqabad, fell down near Mando Dero. Papu was killed on the spot and Anwar was injured.

The injured was taken to the Sukkur Civil Hospital.

CLASH FEARED: Tension is mounting in Daharki due to a dispute between two groups of Hindus and Sikhs over the possession of a temple.

Both the Hindus and Sikhs of the area are claiming the temple, named Darbar Sain Bhoja Ram. The temple at present is in the custody of the Hindus.

A team of Sikhs from Islamabad has also arrived in Daharki to negotiate with the Hindus who fear that they will support the Sikhs and a clash between the two groups is likely.
