KOHAT: The cantonment police found the body of a young man from the Nastrat Khel mountains here on Saturday.

Baseerullah went missing on Thursday, and his relatives had been searching for his whereabouts since then. A group of boys located his decomposed body in the Spin Tang mountain range on Saturday afternoon.

The body was shifted to hospital where his identity and reason of death were confirmed. The police said he was a chronic heroin addict and had fallen from mountains which caused his death. The body was handed over to relatives.

Meanwhile, the police seized a big haul of drugs being smuggled to Punjab from Khyber Agency, and arrested two inter-district smugglers, including a woman, on Indus Highway on Saturday.

Acting on a tip, the Jarma police tightened checking at the Muslimabad checkpost and stopped a car. During search of the vehicle the team found 80 kilogrammes of fine quality hashish hidden in the secret cavities made under its floor.

The smugglers -- Ms Yasmeen belonging to Mohammad Khawaja area of Hangu, and Taus Khan, resident of Taj Abad Colony, Peshawar -- were arrested.

The woman smuggler was presented in a court, which sent her to prison, while the man was handed over to police on physical remand.

The accused told the police that they had bought the hashish in Khyber Agency and their destinations were in Punjab and Sindh.
