LAHORE: A young motorcyclist sustained a deep cut at his throat reportedly owing to a stray kite string in Harbancepura on Sunday.

Police said Mansoor, 28, was on his way when the string left a deep cut on his throat. He was taken to Services Hospital in critical condition.

In an identical incident on Saturday, Abdul Rauf of Shahdara had sustained injuries on Outfall Road. He was admitted to Ganga Ram Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the capital city police claimed to have arrested 65 people for flying kites and seized kites and string from their possession on Sunday.

Police also registered 93 cases against those arrested under the Prohibition of Kite Flying (Amendment) Act 2009.
