QUETTA: The capital and northern parts of Balochistan received heavy rainfall while Ziarat and Qila Saifullah experienced snowfall on Wednesday, causing the mercury to go down.

The downpour in Quetta, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Chaman and many other areas began late on Tuesday and continued intermittently throughout Wednesday.

Ziarat, Qila Saifullah, Kanmehterzai and some other areas received snowfall which also began on Tuesday night.

“Around a foot of snowfall was recorded in Ziarat over the past 24 hours,” Amanullah Kakar, a resident, told Dawn.

The Met Office predicted more snowfall and rain in Quetta and other areas of northern Balochistan over the next 24 hours, which would further cause the temperature to drop.
