MITHI: TV celebrity and film-maker Reham Khan, along with Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company chief executive officer Shamsuddin Shaikh, launched a free Wi-fi facility in two villages of Tharparkar on Saturday. The ceremony was held in Senhri Dars village near Islamkot.

Speaking to the audience, Mr Shaikh said that after Senhri Dars and Tharyo Halepoto villages, the facility would be extended to the entire block-II of the Thar coal project site. He said that the free Wi-fi facility was being extended to students of all educational institutions, as well as other people staying or visiting the block under the corporate social responsibility obligations.

Reham Khan appreciated the initiative and said that the facility would give Thari people free access to internet, which had become a necessity of life. She expressed the hope that it would help improve socio-economic conditions of Tharis.
