LAHORE: Rain in Lahore and elsewhere in the country on Thursday sharply dropped temperatures, reintroducing chill in the air.

It rained in Lahore during the early hours of the day, and intermittent drizzle continued till in the evening, dropping the day’s maximum temperature to 18 degrees C that was 28 degrees C two days ago.

The Met department reported rain in several other cities in the country. Gujranwala received 41mm, Sargodha 15, Sialkot 14, Bhakkar 12, Murree, Chakwal, Kasur 11, Noorpurthal, Faisalabad, Mianwali 10, Islamabad 8, Mangla 8, Jhelum 6, Okara, 3, Jhang 2, Rawalpindi 2, Abbotabad 16, Pattan 15, Balakot 13, Lower Dir 11, Kohat, Dir 6, Saidu Sharif 3, Parachinar 2, Rawalakot 19, Garhi Dupatta 17, Muzaffarabad, Kotli 11, Gilgit 2.

Murree also received 4inch of snow, Malamjabba 3 and Astore 1.

More rain is expected in the central and upper most parts of the country in the next 24 hours.
