KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) is going to sign a strategic partnership agreement with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) in the forthcoming council meeting.

FPCCI President Zubair Tufail, who has left for London to attend the Commonwealth Trade Ministers’ meeting on March 9-10, will sign the strategic partnership agreement with the CWEIC.

The agenda for the Commonwealth Trade Ministers’ meeting is to create an export-economy roundtable, access to markets, export diversification, SMEs and enterprise development, discussion on trade finance and export credit guarantees.

All trade ministers of the Commonwealth will participate in the meeting. Pakistan will be represented by the commerce secretary along with the FPCCI president. The Commonwealth member-countries have a share of 14 per cent and 21pc in Pakistan’s imports and exports, respectively.
