Very strange order. NADRA, FIA and Islamabad Police are all reporting to Interior Minister and must be working under coordination. NADRA has given CNIC verification access via SMS to everyone and even mobile companies with agents running on motorcycles have bio-metric readers to verify customer before issuing SIMs.

The report should have clarified that Usman was not NADRA chairman when original petition was filed by Waqas Malik. One of the smartest guys working in government sector is being treated so unfairly and being made scapegoat. Most people do not know about Usman Yousaf Mobeen but this guy is a genius who came and set up the system for NADRA after completing his degrees at MIT. He could have easily picked staying in USA and might have ended up in executive positions in Microsoft or Apple but decided to go back and serve his country. I am not sure that availability of required biometric data for FIA and police is hurdle since same data verification was done to identify scores of individuals involved in terrorism. There is a National Accounting Committe which audits the finances of every federal agencyand such reports can be accessed . We should get all the facts and details of the petition before pre-judging this guy.

Personal data of people shall be protected and should have limited access to only selected people for very special usr.

Sad and unbelievable... the youngest, most honest chairman of NADRA. Guy who built NADRA where it is now is being treated like this. This is the prime example of why people leave Pakistan. He is being punished by int minister for not bending down for his illogical demands. Plus because evil minded people in NADRA want him out.

This entirely wrong idea to give access to NADRA database to Police and other. It will badly misuse. Very simple.

Will IHC take full responsibility if data is misused by FIA and police? On the other hand, limited access or a report on case by case bases should be provided to other agencies so they can take actions against culprits but no point or reason to give full access to all. This DB probably contains PII data and its not and Open Data kind of DB that an organized departments like FIA should have access to. Court should be educated in this matter.. probably judge himself does not have understanding of how it works and need to be educated... this case has no basis... now Nadra has to respond and not responding is not an option either..
