International archaeology moot begins

KHAIRPUR, Dec 30: The director of the Taxila Institute, Islamabad, and renowned archaeologist Dr Ahmed Hussain Dani has said that the Indus Valley Civilization is one of the oldest in the world and requires further study.

Dr Dani, while opening a three-day International Archaeology Conference at the Shah Abdul Latif University here on Tuesday, said archaeology was our past and history and preserving it would enable us to preserve our identity.

Dr R. S. Bishat from India; Idaki Shodai, Mona Bokaimsu, Ikinori Mori, C. G. Nakayama and K. R. Kondu from Japan; Dr G. M. Kanayar, Randil La and K. T. Lins from the US; Ahmed Nabi Khan, Dr Taj Ali, Dr Syed Ashfaq Shah, Dr Asma Ibrahim, Saifur Rehman Dar, Dr Saleemul Haq, Kalimullah Lashari, Hidayat Prem, Dr Saleem, Dr Abdul Jabbar Junejo and others participated in the conference.
