QUETTA: Police have arrested over two dozen illegal immigrants residing in different areas of the provincial capital in the last 24 hours.

A police official said on Monday that a special campaign was launched in the province against foreign nationals living without legal documents. During the campaign, police arrested 19 Afghan nationals, he added.

Earlier, 12 illegal immigrants were arrested as they were living in Pakistan without registration with the UN refugee agency as a refugee.

The arrested Afghans were handed over to the district administration to register a case against them under the Foreigners Act.
