KARACHI: Renowned architect Asad I.A. Khan has been elected chairman of the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP), said a statement on Monday.
It said that over 3,000 architects and town planners from all over the country were eligible to take part in the recently-held elections, where Asad I.A. Khan defeated Ejaz Qadri.
Mr Khan had served as the managing director of NESPAK from 2009 to 2014. He was the country’s first architect who headed the multidisciplinary civil engineering organisation, the statement added.
He has also designed many landmark buildings in the country and abroad. Important among them include Prime Minister’s House and Prime Minister’s Secretariat, it added.
