HYDERABAD: An empty wagon of a goods train derailed at Akhundabad near Jamshoro thermal powerhouse on Friday morning. Pakistan Railways officials said no casualty was reported in the incident. A cause of the derailment could not be ascertained immediately, they added.

They said that the empty tank-mounted wagon slipped off the track at around 7am while the train was returning to Karachi after offloading oil at the powerhouse.

They said that the track was cleared two hours after the incident.

“The train with oil supplies shuttles between Karachi and the Jamshoro powerhouse daily,” a PR official said, adding that an inquiry into the derailment would be held to ascertain the facts.
