SWABI: The Awami National Party leaders in a meeting here on Thursday praised the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz for starting a gas supply project in Razaar tehsil and criticised the PTI leaders for their alleged opposition to the scheme.

PML-N ministers Ahsan Iqbal and Saad Rafique and PM’s adviser Amir Muqam had inaugurated the gas supply project at Shewa Adda here on Feb 10.

The areas expected to get gas facility also included NA-12, Swabi-I, from where Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leaders MNA Usman Tarakai and provincial health minister Shahram Tarakai were elected.

The ANP leaders said that Mr Usman was twice elected from NA-12, but he failed to meet the demand of people to complete the gas supply project.

“We condemn the indifferent approach of the PTI leaders and their warning to PML-N leaders to stay away from the project,” said Senator Sitara Ayaz.

District nazim Ameer Rehman said that they welcomed the role played by the PML-N leaders because thousands of new connection seekers would be facilitated by the federal government.

TWO KILLED: A man committed suicide after killing his wife in Maneri Payyan following exchange of hot words with his father here on Thursday, said police.

Registering an FIR with the city police station, Qaim Khan, uncle of the deceased, said that Asim Khan first shot dead his wife and then himself inside their house.

About the cause of the incident, he stated that Asim had gone abroad for work, but soon returned telling his father that it was not impossible for him to do the difficult labour duty.

He said that his father told him that he had borrowed money for his visa and now how he would return the amount. On this, they exchanged hot words, which led to the incident.
