Shaheen Air inducts another Airbus A319 to its fleet

Shaheen Air International (SAI) announced on Wednesday that the airline has inducted another Airbus A319 into its fleet.

The airline is also slated to receive five more aircraft of the similar model. Earlier, there was only one A319 Airbus in the fleet of the airline.

"With 24 planes under its auspices, Shaheen Air is brimming with excitement upon receiving their 25th aircraft," said a statement.

The new aircraft comes wrapped in a new livery that builds on the revamped brand identity and philosophy of Shaheen, said the release.

The Airbus A319 has been custom-fitted with thin and linear seats and it can accommodate around 150 passengers in its all-economy segment.

Last month, the company had re-branded itself by launching a new logo.

Airlines in the private sector are thriving - Shaheen, AirBlue and the newly inducted Sabeen Air. This tells us that government shouldn't be running businesses in this country - PIA, Steel Mills, Wapda all costing the national exchequer 100s of Billions per year and their liabilities keep growing. It is high time that we move on and get the government out of running any businesses in the country to reduce the burden on the taxpayers.

There is no way I am getting on the plane shown in picture above. It is asking for trouble. Airliners only sell second hand planes after the shelf lives are over. Buy new planes directly from Boeing. For Pakistani domestic routes, Boeing 737 are the best choices. However, there are no shady profits with Boeing 737 deal so we may never seen it in our fleet.

@Jawwad, A319 is the preferred aircraft for short haul flights around the world. Easy Jet of UK is the biggest operator with around 144 A319 serves across European region from their main hub at London Luton. A319 is not an old aircraft, entered into service in 1996 and airbus still produce as per orders. I think Shaheen is doing good to cater demanding short haul routes, boeing 737 is another good option too
