The Strategic Vision Institute (SVI) hosted its second seminar on Kashmir, self determination and regional security, which was followed by a high tea.

Foreign diplomats and defence attaches listened to more than a dozen retired Pakistani ambassadors speak on the issue, some with impatience and passion, wanting to see progress and solutions to the Kashmir issue.

A foreigner suggested there may not be a solution which can be implemented soon and which will satisfy Kashmiris.

He appreciated SVI founder and director Dr Zafar Iqbal Cheema for encouraging young students and researchers to express their opinions and noted that two young women were among the key speakers.

“It is the younger generation which will be able to find a solution to the Kashmir issue and they have to look for an unorthodox solution,” he said.

Many in Europe are concerned about the human rights violations committed in Kashmir, he added.
