School security

Published February 21, 2017

THIS is apropos Mrs Rabia Kamran’s letter about the lack of proper security arrangements at private and public sector schools. I agree she is genuinely concerned about about the safety and security of her own child, as well as of other children because there is no fool-proof security system in place in schools, in general.

The school administration is quite complacent that the APS type attack cannot and will not recur. Just to emphasise the importance of very tight security of school I would say that in Peshawar, the victims were not only innocent children but the teachers, staff and anybody inside the school. So all the more urgency to make schools absolutely secure.

I would like to give the example of ASF, they are doing pretty good job as hijacking cases are very rare. School management should spend at least 25pc of its profit for security of the children from whom they receive hefty fees.
