PESHAWAR: Faris John of the Government College Peshawar won two gold and a bronze medal on the opening day of the University of Peshawar Inter-college Boys Athletics Championship, which got under way here on Monday.

The final and prize distribution ceremony will be organised on Tuesday at 10.30am.

Hilal Khan of the Government Degree College Hayatabad won silver medal and Roman of the Government College Peshawar secured the bronze medal.

In high jump, Jamshed of the Government College of Management Science Peshawar won the gold medal, followed by Mohib Ullah of Post Graduate Department University of Peshawar and Roman of GCP.

In tipple jump, Jamshed of GCMS Peshawar won the gold medal, Ahmad Farhan of PG grabbed silver medal, and Farhad Habib and Abdul Wahab of the Government Degree College Jamrud won the bronze medal.

In 300m, Faris won the gold, followed by Mohammad Rahim of GCP and Shah Rukh of GDC Jamrud.

Shahab won gold medal in javelin throw, followed by Ismail of GDC Jamrud and Usman Nawaz of Government Degree College Hayatabad.

Inam of the Government Degree College Hayatabad secured the gold medal, Shahab of the Government College Peshawar won the silver medal and Abid Ullah of the Post Graduate Peshawar grabbed the bronze medal.
