HYDERABAD, Dec 29: The Sindh National Council’s executive committee at a meeting held here on Monday discussed the Legal Framework Order and the increasing incidents of terrorism.

The meeting was of the opinion that the government-Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal deal would strengthen the roots of fundamentalism in the country.

It said the constitutional amendments were aimed at legitimizing an illegal government through parliament.

It observed that the amendments to the Constitution would weaken democratic institutions.

The meeting appealed to all the democratic forces and the people to play their role in protecting the future of democracy in the country.

The meeting was attended by Hussain Bux Thebo, Dr Dodo Mehri, Dr Rahim Solangi, Chacha Mohammad Ali Laghari, Punhal Sario and others.

PML-Q: The Pakistan Muslim League-Q labour wing has condemned the murderous attack on President Gen Pervez Musharraf, terming it as a conspiracy of anti-Pakistan forces.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Sunday, the provincial general secretary of the party’s labour wing, Hameed Hingoro, divisional president, women wing, Tasneem Zahra, provincial vice-president, Faqir Mohammad Solangi, and others said that the president was the saviour of the country and had strengthened Pakistan.

They said the president had fulfilled all his promises and had waged a relentless battle against the terrorists.

They said that it was for the first time that women of Pakistan had been given 33 per cent representation at all constitutional fora.
