KARACHI, Dec 26: The Sindh committee of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors in a meeting here the other day adopted a resolution condemning the recent arson attack in Thatta, in which copies of several Sindhi newspapers were burnt.
The meeting noted the failure of the law-enforcement agencies to arrest the arsonists.
It called upon the Sindh chief minister to order an immediate inquiry into the incident which, it said, must not be viewed as an isolated incident but should be considered in the larger context of press freedom in Pakistan.
