Man shot dead in Karachi ‘sectarian attack’

A man was gunned down on Tuesday night in suspected sectarian attack in Gulistan-i-Jauhar area of Karachi, police said.

Mohammed Kazim Raza, 39, was riding a motorcycle when unknown pillion riders targeted him from behind near Mir Munawar Chowrangi, said a police official, adding that he sustained critical bullet injuries and died on the spot.

“It appeared to be a targeted killing incident linked with sectarianism,” opined Superintendent Police Dr. Fahad Ahmed.

Meanwhile, Majlis-i-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) condemned the incident and demanded of the law enforcement agencies to take notice of the rising "sectarian killings" in the city.

Sectarian killings throughout Pakistan has increased over the years. Since there is no authenticated & correct data available, we can not say in the rise in percentage for that matter our religious leaders & government official is not doing hardly enough to discourage this stupid action. I never or hardly read in the newspaper about these types of killing back in the 1960s or 1970s. Just imagine what will be happening 20 years from now.
