Japanese citizen 'commits suicide' in Multan

A Japanese citizen allegedly committed suicide by jumping off a hotel building in Multan on Thursday, police said.

The man, later identified as Okumura Katfumi, jumped to his death from the third floor of a hotel situated in Multan's Tariq Road area, City Police Officer (CPO) Multan Ahsan Younas said.

The Japanese citizen was staying in the hotel as he was working on a project in Dera Ghazi Khan. Some 15-20 people from China and Japan are also staying in the same hotel.

Police shifted the man's body to Nishtar Hospital for postmortem.

The CPO said forensic evidence was collected from the incident site and an investigation into the death has been started.

Sources in the area told DawnNews a suicide note allegedly penned by Katfumi was found from the spot and it read: "I am very sad."

@Umair chishti , People do not know what they want; What will bring happiness. Whether it is high educational qualification, high career, money or family with love and affection or belief in God. The reality is happiness is in the mind. It is a state of mind. You will get happiness if you are moderate in everything; A little education, a non stressful job, a loving wife and children and little belief in God. Balance your life among these things.

@kings way Wrong my friend - This guy had everything in life but he did it. Sadness will not be able to take over you if you have the belief in Oneness of your Creater. He was balancing life with all that you stated, he was not to be concerned with food, shelter and family because he is from a very rich nation but was still sad,

Japanese work culture is simply pathetic. It's well known that many people in Japan literally work themselves to death and have no time for forging real relationships, and are now turning to online games and other sites where they can meet virtual partners. Most recently the CEO of a Blue Chip company resigned in Japan because one of the employees committed suicide, and his plea for help had fallen on deaf ears for several weeks. I have a friend working in a Japanese company and she literally cried in front of me because she is 28 and hasn't had a boyfriend in the last 5 years because of the prolonged working hours.

@M Waseem K , Rich nation does not mean all are rich; Rich nation also does not mean everything fine there; Depression is a world wide problem due to health complaint, loneliness, work pressure etc. Money alone will not solve all problems.
