Zahir, Sahb bag fastest man, woman titles in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Young and talented Zahir Khan and Sahb-e-Asra bagged the fastest man and woman titles respectively in the open competitions while Afsar Khan and Esha won the same title in the under-16 category during an event held here recently with the joint collaboration of Athletics Federation of Pakistan and Pakistan School Sports Olympics as well as Faisalabad Athletics Association and Punjab Athletics Association.

As many as 160 athletes participated in the event.

Naseer Yousef Vohra, president of the Anjuman Tajran Itthad, was the chief guest while Haider Ali Shah and Bashir Ahmed Dogar were the guests of honour and distributed the trophies and certificates among the winners.

Faisalabad’s organising secretary Shahid Faqeer and focal person cum project director AFP Gohar Raza were also present on the occasion.

Results:

Fastest man and woman competitions (100 metres):

Under-13 boys: Shahid Rafique 1st position 12.50sec; Subhan Haider 2nd position 13.31sec; Habi ur Rehman 3rd position 14.17 sec.

Under-16 boys: Afsar Khan 1st position 11.37 sec; Amanullah 2nd position 11.44 sec; M.Imran 3rd position 11.60sec.

Under-16 girls: Esha 1st position 13.20sec; Tehreem 2nd position 13.69sec; Asiha Zulifqar 3rd position 13.87sec Under-19: Ahmed Ali 1st position 11.43sec; M Shahzad 2nd position11.50 sec; M Awais 3rd position 12.11sec Men’s open: Zahir Khan 1st position 11.12 sec; Usman Ghofoor 2nd position 11.40sec; Zeeshan Ahmed 3rd position 11.60 sec.

Women’s open: Sahb-e-Asra 1st position 12.50sec; Najma 2nd position 13.7sec; Milhan 3rd position 13.17sec.
