Israel's Attorney General has ordered police to open a criminal investigation in two unspecified matters involving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's Channel 10 television said on Wednesday.
When asked, a Justice Ministry spokeswoman declined to respond to the report.
Netanyahu has in the past denied wrongdoing in the purchase of submarines from Germany, where media have reported a potential conflict of interest involving his lawyer.
The Channel 10 report said one of the two cases that AG Avihai Mandelblit had been examining was not known to the public.

This is how a democracy is supposed to work. Where the Attorney General is independent of the Executive Branch and can hold any one accountable. The Judiciary has to be completely neutral to be objective for the AG to work with.
Sadly, the version of democracy is so convoluted and corrupt that no one even knows the name of the Law Minister, Attorney General or what powers and mandate are accorded to NAB, FIA and Legislature.

Israel does not care for the rights of the Palestinians and has no regard for the International Law in this regard, however, within its borders it has better record for the Rule of Law than its neighbors.
